Understanding the Rankings

These rankings are based on the most recent DVSA practical driving test statistics. Pass rates can fluctuate between reporting periods, so a centre's position may change over time.

Higher-ranked centres tend to be in rural or suburban areas with quieter roads, while lower-ranked centres are typically in busy urban areas, particularly London. However, a lower pass rate doesn't necessarily mean the centre is "harder" — it can also reflect differences in candidate preparation levels.

When choosing a test centre, consider factors beyond just the pass rate: familiarity with local roads, travel time, and availability of test slots all matter.
